Our Place As Nature

An evening of poetry hosted by poet Amy Beth Sisson and naturalist-garden designer Rose Fairley, featuring poet Sarah Audsley and her collection Landlocked X (Texas Review Press). MNTC actors will also perform works by Franny Choi, Louise Glück, Ross Gay, Jacqueline Suskin, and others exploring our relationship with the natural world. Free and open to the public — registration encouraged along with a $10 donation, half of which goes to the North Branch Nature Center native plant restoration nursery.

Join us for a three-hour master class in on-camera acting with MNTC founding member Annie Chang (Peacemaker on HBO, Interior Chinatown on Hulu). Using a simple setup you can recreate at home, learn film acting foundations and technical skills to perform confidently on-screen. Annie will assign participants a scene to workshop and offer coaching from the perspective of a working actor. Includes a Q&A on the business side of film/tv. Curious but not ready to perform? Co-hosted by MNTC and Full Circle Theater Collaborative, this workshop is open to everyone — from total beginners to seasoned Shakespeare nerds. Taught by visiting Los Angeles performers Taylor Jackson Ross and MNTC founding member Kristina Mueller, the class includes a brief look at Shakespeare's world, theatre warm-ups for body and voice, and hands-on work with text from both a comedy and a tragedy. 18+.
